Text: Mathew 6:25-34, “25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek🙂 for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

Anchor verse: Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

INTRODUCTION:

“Knowing God as a rewarder” comes from the understanding that God is not only our Creator and our Provider, but also our Judge and Rewarder. The Bible tells us that God will one day judge the world and reward those who have been faithful to Him. This reward is not something that we earn, but it is something that is freely given to those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. When we know God as our Rewarder, it changes the way we live our lives and motivates us to serve Him faithfully.

God rewards those who seek Him. He is a good and loving Father who delights in blessing His children. When we seek Him, we can trust that He will provide for our needs and reward us for our faithfulness. Let us not forget that He is a God who sees and knows our hearts, and He will reward those who diligently seek Him. As we draw near to God, let us do so with faith and trust, knowing that He will reward us in ways that are beyond our imagination.

There are many examples of people in the Bible who were rewarded for seeking God. One of the most well-known examples is Abraham. In Genesis 15:6, “And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.” Because of his faith, God promised to make Abraham to become a great nation and give him a land of his own. Another example is Job. In the book of Job, we see that despite the trials and suffering he endured, Job never lost his faith in God. In the end, God restored Job’s health and wealth, and blessed him with more than he had before.

There are many rewards that we can receive from God, both in this life and in the life to come. In this life, God can reward us with peace, joy, and contentment. He can also provide us with physical needs, such as food, shelter, and clothing. Additionally, He can give us strength and wisdom to face the challenges of life. In the life to come, we will receive an eternal reward. The Bible speaks of a “crown of life James 1:12, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.”  and “the unfading crown of glory” 1 Peter 5:4, “(5:4) And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.”

CONCLUSION:

According to the Bible, everyone who has put faith in Jesus Christ deserves God’s rewards. In John 3:16, we read that “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” This verse makes it clear that anyone who believes in Jesus will receive eternal life as a reward. In addition, those who persevere through trials and tribulations will also receive a special reward from God.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

God’s rewards are not based on our performance, but on his grace and mercy.

PRAYER POINTS:

  1. Thank God for his grace and mercy, and for the eternal rewards He has prepared for those who seek him.
  2. Ask God to help you seek Him with a humble and grateful heart.
  3. Pray for strength and wisdom to face the challenges of life, knowing that God will reward you for your faithfulness.
  4. Pray for those who are seeking God that they would find Him and receive His rewards in the name of Jesus Christ.
  5. Ask God to reveal any areas in your life where you may be seeking earthly rewards instead of His eternal rewards.
