FOCUS FOR SUCCESS
You will succeed; you will not fail in life in the name of Jesus. We said confidence is a requirement for success in life. Joshua 1:1-9, verse 6-7 say “Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it [to] the right hand or [to] the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.2” Verse 9 says “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
But for you to succeed in life, you must remain focused. Focus on a destination that you are going. That is you must have a particular destination you want to reach. By the time you arrive at the place, you will know that you have hit your target. Failure is unable to get to a place you intended to reach. If your destination is “Akure” but you ended at “Ikire”, that is failure. So what do you want to become in life? That is your destination in mind.
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, [and] I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” So if Jeremiah did not prophecy or become a prophet, then he has failed. Whatever God ask you to do and you do it that is success. When you have a destination in mind, reaching the destination is also success. Focus is a very specific goal or destination. God will give you focus in life; you will not be distracted in Jesus’ name.
Imagine a football match without a goal post; the match will end in frustration. All the 22 players on the pitch are aiming at the goal post to score. That is a simple illustration of focus to succeed. There is where to go, what to have, what to become in your lifetime. If you lack any of this you cannot become successful in life. You will discover your goals in life in the name of Jesus.
Having set goals in life, you need to be focused on the goals, be steadfast towards achieving the goals. Everyone always ends up with one goal in his or her per time. You achieve one goal before aiming at another goal. You cannot pursue all the goals at the same time. If you do that, you may likely fail in all. Isaiah 50:7 “For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.” Philippian 3: 13-14 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but [this] one thing [I do], forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Do not just hope that something will happen to succeed in life. Life is all about being consistent and focused. You will not miss your focus; you will not miss your target in Jesus’ name. Josuah 1:7 says “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it [to] the right hand or [to] the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest” Staying focus in life is not easy because there are many distractions around us. The ability to overcome distraction is call focus. Every successful people in life stay focus, so be focused!
Prayer:
- Every distraction to my goals in life be removed in the name of Jesus.
- All the agents of distractions in the name of Jesus be scattered now.
- Every force of failure I reject you in my life in the mighty name of Jesus.
- Every power taking me away from the will of God, perish in the name of Jesus.
- Everything that is making me to falling short of my goals in life God will make it up for me in Jesus’ name.
