Take charge. The phrase “Take Charge” is not just a sweet-sounding catchy phrase. It is what the Lord wants us to do. I decree you will be equipped to take charge in the name of Jesus Christ.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO TAKE CHARGE?
It means that you are taking responsibility. It means that you are in control. It means that you take decisions and when you decide on the same, you are active even about it. It means that you are in the lead. And as you do that, you are chosen, manifest in the man’s deeds of God for your life.
WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE CHARGE?
It is the man’s deed of God for your life. God created man and He gave man a blessing. Genesis 1:26-28, “26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” It is God’s design, that human beings should take charge. Psalms 8:4-8, “4What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: 7All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; 8The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.”
Unfortunately, man lost it in the Garden of Eden when Satan lured Adam and Eve to disobey God’s commandment. The good news, however, is that we have restoration in Christ Jesus. You take charge because you have made a king and a priest. You did not make yourself. You have made through redemption to become a king and a priest.
Kings take charge of the territories under their control and priests take charge of spiritual matters. You are both a king and a priest. You are blessed. Revelation 5:8-10, “8And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. 9And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” It is part of our redemption package to take charge. If you do not take charge, you will be trampled over. You will not be trampled over in Jesus name.
WHERE SHOULD YOU TAKE CHARGE?
You are to take charge in every situation and event of life. You have been well equipped to do so. On no account you will be subdued by any event or issue of life. You are to take charge in all events of life.
WHAT SHOULD YOU TAKE CHARGE OF?
- To take charge of your heart. Proverbs 4:23, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Be careful what you feed into your heart. Feed your heart with the promises of God and with hope. If you do not take charge of your heart, all sorts of evil and devilish attacks would be able to penetrate. Proverbs 25:28, “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” If you do not guard your heart, then everything will be able to enter both negative and evil. So guard your heart. Do not let your heart be opened to all sorts of evil attacks of the enemy. Proverbs 23:26, “My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.” The best way to take charge of your heart is to give it to Jesus. And when you give it to Jesus, it is going to make sure that it is only what the heaven ordains that comes into your heart. The matter of the heart is the heart of the matter of life and the Lord will help you to take charge of your heart in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Take charge of your physical body. It is the temple of God. 1 Corinthians 6:19, “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” Some people may say, “It is my body. I can use it the way I wish.” When you are a Christian, when you come to the knowledge of Christ, you should take charge of your body in a way that it will be a blessing to others and it will be the presence of God and it will be a place where God can do his work. You need a healthy body to carry out your divine mandates and to take charge. To have the healthy body, please eat well, eat healthy, sleep well, and exercise. Proverbs 20:1, “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.”
- Take charge of your environment, your community and the situations which you find yourself. Yes, situations of life happen, take charge. Mark 4:37-39, “37And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”
WHAT ARE THE THINGS THAT YOU WOULD NEED IF YOU WANT TO TAKE CHARGE?
- You must be bold and strong to take charge. Proverbs 28:1, “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.” Paul the Apostle gives an admonition in the book of Ephesians 6:10, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” You have been called to reign in the midst of your enemies and for you to be able to reign in the midst of your enemies, you need to be bold and courageous Psalms 110:1-2, “1A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. 2The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.” When God commissioned Joshua to take charge of the Israelites as they approached the Promised Land, the very first commandment God gave him was to be strong and be courageous. Joshua 1:6-7, “6Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. 7Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.” The same is coming to you, be strong, be courageous so that you will be able to take charge as God has ordained for you. The weaklings do not take charge.
- If you want to take charge, spend quality time in prayers and in the study of His words. It is in the place of prayer and of the study of the word of God that you receive strategies, instructions on how to take charge. If you will take control, then you must have a control room. The place where you meet with the Lord, is your control room. The Lord will help us in the name of Jesus Christ. Luke 18:1, “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” King Herod took James and killed him. When he saw that the Jews were happy about it, he also grabbed Peter to kill him. But the church took charge in the place of prayer and Peter was miraculously delivered. Acts 12:1-11. Take charge in the place of prayer.
- Be knowledgeable and wise. Fools do not take charge. People who are ignorance cannot be the one in control. The Lord will help us in the name of Jesus Christ. Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” You will not be destroyed in Jesus’ name.” Proverbs 4:7, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”
- Be a solution provider. David killed Goliath to rescue Israelites from the armies of Philistine. Joseph rescued the land of Egypt and her immediate nations from famine that would have claimed lives of many people. Be a solution provider.
- You need to put your faith to work, especially by your words and your confession. Say what you want to see. That was what God did in Genesis 1:1-25. As you learn to declare what you want to see, you will see it coming to pass in the name of Jesus Christ. Mark 11:23-24, “23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
I want to charge you. Please go and take charge everywhere. At home, at work, at school, in the marketplace, in governments, in the boardroom, wherever, just go and take charge and the Lord will do it in the name of Jesus Christ. You have all the things and nothing will stop you in the name of Jesus Christ. Do not let anything stop you.
