Galatians 6:5, “For every man shall bear his own burden.” So the question is how can I take charge of my problems? How can I solve my own problems? What are some of the problems that we are all facing? I will briefly talk about ten (10) statistics based problems people are facing around the world.
- Money problem: Money is a means of exchange. Without money, people will not be able to do many things. Larger numbers of the people don’t have sufficient money, some have in excess, and some don’t have at all. Those who don’t have enough or at all are the larger number in our society. So it becomes challenging. So people want to solve money problems at all costs.
- Health problem.
- Food problem.
- Spiritual problem.
- Safety and security problem.
- Lack of success
- Storms of life.
- Relationship problem.
- The worries of life. Worries about basic things of life or daily live.
- Death.
HOW CAN WE SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS USING BIBLE BASE REFERENCES?
Solving money problem Matthew 17:24-27, “24And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? 25He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? 26Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. 27Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.” This event shows that there is capacity to find money even in the most very difficult situation of life. What we need is the wisdom of God. In your finance, you will take charge in the name of Jesus Christ. No event of life will box you to corner. You will have a mean to resolve it in the name of Jesus Christ.
Solving health related issues Luke 8:43-48, “43And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, 44Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. 45And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 46And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. 47And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 48And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.” 2 Kings 5:1-15 talked about the story of Naaman. What he did to reveal his healing
Solving food problems Matthew 14:15-21, “15And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. 16But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. 17And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. 18He said, Bring them hither to me. 19And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. 20And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. 21And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.” Jesus Christ, out of compassion decided to solve the problem. Out of the little available, five thousand people were well fed with remnants.
Solving spiritual problem 1 Samuel 17:32, “And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine. David confronted Goliath and prevailed over him. Luke 8:26-35, “26And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. 27And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. 28When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. 29(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) 30And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. 31And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep. 32And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them. 33Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked. 34When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country. 35Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.”
Solving safety and security problem Matthew 2:16, “Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. Joseph and Mary took Jesus Christ to another country to prevent him from being killed by king Herod, who was after his life John 10:31-39, “31Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. 34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? 37If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. 39Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,”
Solving problem of lack of success Luke 5:5-9, “5And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. 6And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. 7And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. 8When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. 9For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:”
Solving storms of life Luke 8:22-25, “22Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. 23But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. 24And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. 25And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.” I command peace in every storm you are going through in the name of Jesus Christ.
Solving relationship problem: Peter, who denied Jesus Christ three times Matthew 26:75, “And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. he And he went out, and wept bitterly.” Jesus later called Peter the rock on whom the church will be standing Matthew 16:18, “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Solving worries of life Matthew 6:31-33, “31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Solving death problem Luke 8:49-56, “49While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master. 50But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. 51And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. 52And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth. 53And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. 54And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. 55And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat. 56And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.” Revelation 1:18, “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” 2 Timothy 1:10, “But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:”
Having learnt from Jesus Christ and other men of faith from the Scripture, how can you apply it to your own problems?
- Seek God: Everyone who solved the particular problem in the Bible sought God. Psalms 63:1, “A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;” Matthew 7:7, “(7:7) Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”
- Take action. Many times we want to take charge without taking action. The docility does not allow you to take charge. So you have to take responsibility to take action before you can take charge. David said I will confront the Goliath. That is an action word.
- Speak right. You must speak right words in any situation you find yourself.
- You must humble yourself.
- You must believe.
- Give thanks no matter what you are facing or passing through in life.
- Be consistent and persistent, defy limit.
- Return to your known house and share your testimony. Talk about your past to encourage others.
- Win the battle of the mind or self-mastery. Daniel, Joseph, and giants in the Bible conquered self before they won other battles of life. They solved life’s problems by self-mastery.
- Nobody takes charge by being the problem. You take charge by being the solution.
Prayer:
- Oh Lord, help to take charge in all life’s endeavours in the name of Jesus Christ.
- I receive empowerment to become problems solver in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Oh Lord, help me to take action, I will not be passive, I will be action taker in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Oh Lord, help me to speak positive words no matter what I am passing through or facing as challenges of life in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Oh Lord, strengthen my faith; my faith will not fail me in the season of trials in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Father, give me absolute victory over the battles of mind. Help me to be in charge of my mind in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Oh Lord, help me to develop a gratitude heart. In all things, at all times, help me to give thanks in the name of Jesus Christ.
