YOUR SUN SHALL NOT GO DOWN

Isaiah 60:20, “Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.”

You have been created by God to glorify Him Genesis 1:27-28, “27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”  Isaiah 43:21, “This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.”

As a born-again Christian, God refers to us as the light of the world Matthew 5:14, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” Proverb 4:18, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” Purpose, be determined and live a disciplined to shine for Jesus Christ.

WHAT CAN MAKE YOUR SUN TO GO DOWN?

  1. Sin turns a man’s light into darkness Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Samson’s Sun came down suddenly. Judges 14:1-3, “1And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines. 2And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife. 3Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.” Judges 16:5-31.Galatians 5:19-21, “19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
  2. Disobedience turns a man’s life into darkness. For example, Saul lost his kingdom because of disobedience 1 Samuel 15:23, “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.”

  1. Pride turns a man’s life to darkness Proverbs 16:18, “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” Another example is King Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel 4:28-33, “28All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar. 29At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon. 30The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? 31While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. 32And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. 33The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.”

HOW YOUR SUN WILL NOT GO DOWN?

  1. Be born again John 8:12, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Colossians 3:3, “(3:3) For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”
  2. Living a righteous life Proverb 14:34, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
  3. Walking in the spirit Galatians 5:16, “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
  4. Pray against powers of darkness Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

VICTORY WAY

Watch and pray Matthew 26:41, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Avoid living a careless life 1 Corinthians 10:12, “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”

Prayer

  1. Oh Lord, help me to overcome works of the flesh in the name of Jesus Christ.
  2. Oh Lord, by the covenant of mercy, do not allow my Sun to go down in the name of Jesus Christ.
