Isaiah 60:20-22, “ 20Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. 21Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. 22A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.”

Anchor Scripture Job 8:7, “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.”

A place or thing is described as small when it is less than normal or expected. Small could also be described an insignificant or unimportant event or entity. To be small could lead to being despised or ignored Psalms 119:141, “I am small and despised: yet do not I forget thy precepts.” Obadiah 1:2, “Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.”

We must therefore war, fight, and resist remaining small as this is not God’s plan for His children. Isaiah 54:2, “Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;”

2 Corinthians 10:4, “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)”

HOW TO WAR AGAINST REMAINING SMALL?

  1. Faith: Speak in faith and act in faith, knowing that faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen Hebrew 11:1,“ Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” 1 Timothy 6:12, “ Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” Matthew 21:21, “Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.”
  2. Believe His word, it is forever settled. Believe in Jesus. Psalms 119:89, “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” 2 Chronicle 20:20, “ And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.”
  3. Matthew 28:19, “(28:19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” We cannot wage war sitting in our comfort zone. War against smallness is prosecuted by going into the cities and the country side to proclaim the good news, be seen and be heard. Publicize and evangelize
  4. Psalms 2:8, “Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.” Prayer is a potent weapon in our warfare against smallness because God answers prayers Psalms 65:2, “O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.”
  5. Eliminate the victim’s language Romans 5:20-21, “20Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 21That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. “ Romans 10:13, “(10:13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
