It was a glorious celebration as people from all works of life and various Christian denominations gathered together during Special Miracle Service to celebrate Bishop Mike Bamidele at 60, as part of the programmes to mark his birthday celebration. The programme captured an interactive session with the youths in which youths’ representatives from various churches were given opportunity to ask questions on family relating issues; his personality as a father and also as a man of God. Question was also asked on how to recognise the voice of God from voice of the devil. Perfect and suitable responses were given by the man of God in respect of the questions asked by the youths’ representatives.

During the sermon delivered by the celebrant titled “BUILDING CAPACITY FOR 21^st CENTURY CHALLENGES” he challenged the youths especially from South-West Nigeria to rise up against the big challenges ahead of them because of recent developments in the country. According to him, he said it is high to sit down and have a rethink on how to address the big challenges ahead of us. In his sermon, he said some of 21^st century challenges include: Inequitable distribution of resources between the poor and the rich, the elites and non-elites; lower morality which result to loss of standard and devaluing of human ethnics; and joblessness.

He admonished the youths to concentrate on mental capacity development in order to face the 21^st century challenges. He said further that only those who have solutions to the problems of life will triumph in the next century. He also said that there is need to build our capacity in the area of spirituality. The needs to maintain good relationship with God and also to be like Him. He later prayed for the God’s grace to face the challenges ahead of us.

In a goodwill message, Osun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Benedict Gboyega Alabi appreciated God’s grace over the celebrant. He prayed for more years to be celebrated on earth. He also admonished everyone to make the God’s will to prevail over our own will, through which we can have a better Nigeria.
