Understanding prosperity according to the way of the Lord is very important. Many people confuse materialism with prosperity, but they are not the same. Chasing after material things does not guarantee peace and joy.
The book of Ecclesiastes emphasizes this truth: “Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.” — Ecclesiastes 1:2. The true foundation of prosperity must be built on the conviction that your source is God.
False Shortcuts to Prosperity
In the pursuit of wealth, many take shortcuts that end in destruction. The psalmist highlighted this difference: “For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked… Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.” — Psalm 73:3, Today, many young people indulge in fraud (“Yahoo Yahoo”) to acquire wealth, but such riches cannot last. Some parents even fail to teach their children that they are not the source of provision — only God is. God is my source. Every young person must realize that their parents are not their ultimate source. God alone is the one who supplies all needs.
How Does God in Heaven Meet Your Needs on Earth?
- Always remember that God is your source. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” — Ephesians 1:3.
- The principle of covenant. God has already made provisions for your life, and these are accessed through covenant relationship with Him. “But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” — Deuteronomy 8:18. God supplies what you need to become what He designed you to be. But when people chase money for the sake of wealth alone, it becomes a burden. Everything God has destined you to become already has a divine budget attached to it. Your life will feel boring and empty if you do not walk in your God-given assignment.
Rules of Wonder Prosperity
- Divine Direction: Prosperity in God’s kingdom is not about chasing money but following divine instructions. “And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures.” — Acts 17:2 (KJV) “O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.” — Jeremiah 10:23. God alone leads you where to go, what to do, and when to do it. Direction from God is part of covenant living. But direction will only come when you ask Him. To hear God clearly, your heart must be rightly positioned, because God is ever ready to speak.
- Work: Work means applying yourself to create value and making life easier for others. The true test of work is the value it produces. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” — Ephesians 2:10. Ask yourself: What value am I creating in the work I do?
- Favour: Favour makes you attractive and lifts you beyond human effort. At every stage of life, strive to be the best, because favour is one of God’s ingredients for prosperity.
- Giving: Giving is a divine principle of prosperity. Honour God with your resources, bless those He places in your path, and give cheerfully. “Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” — Proverbs 3:9–10. Paying your tithes, giving to the needy, and supporting kingdom work are non-negotiable parts of prosperity.

Lord, please lead me to where Your provision for my life is kept. Guide me to walk in covenant prosperity in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Prophetic Declaration
I prophesy: Anything your hands touch from today will attract divine favour. You will walk in abundance, direction, and joy. Your life will reflect the wonder of prosperity according to the covenant of God.
