AUTHORITY OVER SATAN

Matthew 4:1-11, “1Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungered. 3And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 5Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 8Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 11Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.”

Colossians 2:14-15, “14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

Satan is perpetually under our feet Genesis 3:15, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

We can tread upon serpent and scorpion. We have power to tramp upon lions Psalms 91:13, “Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.”

God is continually bruising the head of Satan on our behalf as long as we dwell in Christ Romans 16:20, “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”

Jesus Himself overcomes Satan Matthew 4:1-11, Colossians 2:14-15

Jesus has sent us our as the ambassadors John 17:18, “As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.” We are representing God in the world. Luke 7:18-19, “18And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.  19And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?” 2 Corinthians 5:20, “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” The assignment may go with sufferings but we must be faithful ambassadors Ephesians 6:20, “For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

We are Gods messengers to pull down Satan Malachi 2:7, “For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.”

Note: Every authority comes as a result of absolute obedience to Almighty God.

  1. Oh Lord, wipe away every handwriting of the devil that is against my life and give me freedom in all areas in the name of Jesus Christ.
