James 1:5, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” Proverbs 3:5-6, “5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

God’s wisdom refers to God’s supreme understanding, discernment and vision to know and do what is best in every situation. It is a divine gift that is granted by God whenever any believer asks.

To obtain wisdom from God, you have to be doing the following:

  1. Study God’s word and meditate on it.
  2. Spend quality time in prayer.
  3. Walk with God and recognize that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, therefore have the fear God. Proverbs 9:10, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
  4. Seek wisdom from godly mentors and teachers.
  5. Ask faithfully for wisdom from God.
  6. Keep wise company Proverbs 13:20, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
  7. Always sing songs of praises to God which will attract God to you 2Kings 3:5-19.
  8. God’s guidance is a central part of the Christian faith. For believers, it is a reminder that God is always present and willing to help us make the right choices in life. It is an assurance that whatever challenges we face, we can find the strength and courage to overcome them with God’s help. God’s guidance comes in many forms, from the still small voice of conscience that speaks to us in moments of doubt to the Bible, which contains God’s Word and teachings.

CONDITIONS FOR RECEIVING GOD’S GUIDANCE

  1. We must learn God’s truth and keep them within our hearts Proverbs 3:1-4, “1My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 2For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. 3Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.”
  2. We must trust the Lord and obey Him Proverbs 3:5-6, “5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
  3. We need to share God’s blessings Proverbs 3:9-10, “9Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”
  4. We must submit to God’s correction Proverbs 3:11-12, “11My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: 12For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.”

VICTORY TIPS

The promise of God to guide and direct us will never fail if we obey the conditions God has laid down. God keeps His promises when we obey His precept because our obedience prepares us to receive and enjoy what He has planned for us.
